I sat alone on the balcony, hands on my wildly kicking belly, and dialed my OB.]
“I need to schedule a termination.“]]
Next morning.
Stabbing stomach pains jolted me awake. I stumbled out looking for Leonel.]
He was lounging on the couch, ankles crossed, smirking at his phone.
Took me calling his name four times before he glanced up.
Seeing how pale I looked, he blinked and helped me sit, absentmindedly massaging my shoulder.
“Hey babe, can’t hang today. Mr. Casey Wells’s expecting me to talk about that yacht deal. Company’s rolling out some luxury cruise packages.”
So casual, like last night was ancient history.[]

The pain made me grip his hand, but he kept texting with the other, completely ignoring me.[]

I crumpled to the floor, accidentally knocking his phone over.

I clicked without thinking. My stomach dropped.]
