Fourteen days Ch 27

The memories hit Rocco’s mind like a tidal wave

He saw the images of himself comforting me while his mind was intimately entwined with Scarlett’s

He saw the countless nights he’d held my body in his arms, whil

his mind was with her, whispering how much he missed

her

Noit wasn’t like thatRocco’s face was deathly pale, his hands clutching his head. Caterina, this doesn’t mean anything…”

Doesn’t mean anything?I sneered. These are your own memories, Rocco. Things you actually did.”

Give me back the moonstone,I said, holding out my hand. It belonged to my grandmother.”

Caterinahis voice was choked with sobs. Please, just give me one more chance. I can change, I swear!”

I gave you six years of chances,I said, my voice calm. And every single time, you chose her.”

But Caterina, we had so many good memories”

Good memories?I cut him off. You mean the ones where you were pretending I was her?”

Rocco shattered, slumping over the table as sobs wracked his body

I can’t lose you, Caterina,he choked out. If you leave me, I’ll die.”

You won’t die,I said, standing up. You still have Scarlett to keep you company.”

Besides,I added, my voice softening slightly, I wouldn’t want my new Alpha to have any lingering doubts. You, of all people, should understand an Alpha’s possessiveness.”

Hearing the words my new Alpha,a look of utter despair crossed Rocco’s face

With a trembling hand, he pulled the moonstone from his pocket

It was a silverwhite gem the size of a fist, glittering in the light, engraved with the sigil of the Silver Moon Pack

Take it,he said, his voice raw. Caterina, is this the last time I’ll ever see you?”

I took the moonstone, feeling its familiar warmth

I hope so.”
