Chapter 2 She’s Just Born Evil
The footage continued. Susan soon returned, only to find her baby missing. Panic washed over her.

At the time, the hospital had no surveillance, and no one could have imagined that the Moore family had taken the wrong child.
She called the police and spent a day and night searching in the rain. In the end, she found Quinn, barely breathing. abandoned in a trash bin.
After investigating, the police were unable to confirm the baby’s identity. They planned to send her to an orphanage.
But Susan stepped in and offered to adopt her.
“I already lost my own child. This abandoned little girl… maybe she’s Heaven’s gift to me. I’ll raise her well–as if she were my
own.”
The police approved her request. From there, the screen shifted to testimonies and memories from their neighbors.
The Moore family and the audience watched in disbelief.
Susan and her husband had cherished Quinn, giving her anything she wanted. Even though they weren’t wealthy, they supported her studies in dance and piano.
Even after Susan’s husband died in a car accident, she worked day and night to raise Quinn, never letting her suffer.
The comments began lighting up.
“Honestly. Elsa’s birth parents were really good to Quinn. No wonder she grew up to be such a bright, cheerful little sun.”
“And if Elsa’s mom hadn’t found Quinn, she might’ve died in that trash bin during the dead of winter. She would’ve never had the chance to reunite with her birth family.”
The Moore family finally seemed to realize it had all been a mistake. Their expressions shifted–embarrassed and shaken.
Especially Mandy. Upon learning it was the nanny who had switched the children, her gaze turned blank, lost.
But Peter clenched his jaw.
“So what? Even if Elsa’s mom didn’t switch my sister, it doesn’t change the fact that Elsa’s just awful! She always thought Mom and Dad favored me because I was a boy. Ever since I was born, she hated me. She even tried to sell me to traffickers when we were kids! If the police hadn’t stepped in, who knows what backwater I’d have ended up in by now!”
The judge looked at the three Moore family members. “Are you certain these charges are accurate?”
Mandy snapped out of it, her face hardening once again with cold hatred.
“Yes! Totally accurate! Peter was only four years old that year! She took him out to play and almost let traffickers take him! That place was chaotic. If some kind stranger hadn’t called the police, we would’ve lost one more biological child!”
Felix chimed in. “Exactly! She was only nine and already that vicious. She’s just born evil!”
On the defendant’s bench, Elsa’s vacant expression finally cracked. Her eyes reddened, and tears streamed down her cheeks.
But she couldn’t speak.
Her body was already on the verge of collapse. Making it to the end of this memory trial alive would be a miracle.
But she refused to give in….
She hadn’t done anything wrong. Why did everyone insist she was born evil?
Even if she died right here, on this trial bench, she would clear her name!
The audience and the Moore family saw her tears, but their reactions were mocking.

“Now you’re scared, Elsa? Too late! Your crimes will all come to light. Just you wait. This is only the beginning of what you owe!”
The comments echoed the sentiment.
“She’s crying because she knows she’s guilty. So much for all that fake innocence earlier!”
“Right? She should’ve just confessed and spared everyone the trouble!”
“She was evil at nine–says it all. Born bad!”
The judge said nothing and fast–forwarded to the relevant memory. The screen began playing again.
A villa appeared. Elsa, around nine, sat at a desk doing homework. A small boy burst into her room and yanked her notebook from her hands.
“Come play with me!”
Elsa looked conflicted. “But I have homework. If I don’t finish it, the teacher will be mad…”
Before she could finish, the boy tore her notebook in half.
“I don’t care! You have to play with me! It’s just homework. Mom said it doesn’t matter if girls are smart or not. I’m the one who’ll inherit the family business anyway!”
The boy spoke proudly. “Come play now! Or I’ll tell Mom you bullied me!”
Elsa looked down at the shredded notebook, her eyes rimmed red.
But staring at the wailing boy, she silently knelt down to gather the scraps. “Okay. I’ll go play with you.”
Peter stiffened at the sight, his face clearly uneasy.
The comments caught on quickly.
“Wait–is that Mr. Peter?”
“He’s all polished and polite now, but he was a brat back then…”
“Let’s be honest, the Moore family clearly favored boys. What kind of nonsense is that–saying it doesn’t matter if girls are
sinart or not?”
“Exactly. Peter was already acting like everything belonged to him. The way he talked to Elsa… didn’t even see her as human.”
“Don’t go too far. He was just a kid. Can’t expect him to know better.”
“Still, did Elsa really try to sell Peter to traffickers over something this small? That would be seriously messed up…”
Peter quickly tried to defend himself. “Yeah, I was young and didn’t know any better. But even if I made mistakes, Elsa could’ve scolded me! Did she really have to go that far and try to tear me away from my parents?”
The judge glanced at him and resumed the footage.
Elsa led Peter outside and looked at the sky, “Peter, can we just play in the yard? The weather looks bad it might rain soon.”
Isur Peter refused. “I want candy! Come with me to the store!”
Elsa tried to reason with him, but Peter threw a tantrum.
Once outside, Elsa gripped his hand tightly the whole way, terrified he might run off.
At the candy shop, just as Elsa was about to pay. Peter whined, “I want to look at toys. You get the candy and come find me
after!”
Elsa hesitated. “Okay but don’t run off. Stay right here and wait for me, okay?

Peter nodded eagerly. But as soon as she turned away, a smiling man walked up. “Hey kid, you like remote–control cars?”
Peter nodded again.
“There’s nothing fun here. Want to come see something better?” the man whispered.
Peter’s interest was piqued. “How fun?”
The man smiled mysteriously, “Come see for yourself. My house is just nearby.”
Peter didn’t even hesitate–he followed the man toward a van parked outside.
The comments exploded again.
“Wait, wasn’t Peter the one who walked off with a stranger? How is that Elsa’s fault?”
“Maybe they were working together?”
But the footage continued. Elsa returned with the candy just in time to see her brother about to get into the van. Her eyes went wide.
“Stop! Where are you taking my brother?!”
The man froze, unsure what to do. But Peter muttered under his breath, “Don’t listen to her. Let’s just go. She’s so annoying.”
The audience gasped, and Peter’s face turned ghostly pale.
