Chapter 20
After all the guests checked out, Natalie walked solemnly before everyone.
Her back seemed weighed down by something heavy, nearly collapsing under the burden.
But she still supported herself on her frail shoulders and bowed deeply to everyone.
“I’m sorry for dragging you all into this!”
Grace was the first to react, quickly helping Natalie up.
“What nonsense are you talking about? Have you forgotten what we all said when the inn opened? That we’d share honor and disgrace, advance and retreat together! This isn’t your fault–it’s society’s fault, men’s fault!”
“Exactly, Natalie. Don’t mind those online comments. We’ve heard worse and still made it through just fine! Don’t feel guilty or blame yourself. Without you, Maya and I wouldn’t have what we have now.”
“If the bed–and–breakfast doesn’t work out, we’ll just do something else! We’ve saved so much money–we could easily get plastic surgery in Korea and come back looking completely different. Who would recognize us then?”
Ruby burst out laughing.
“Who are you planning to look like?”
“Don’t laugh, I’m serious! I already found reference photos–I want to look like Scarlett Johansson! Lisa, who do you like? I’ll help you decide!”
The atmosphere immediately livened up.
The five of them sat in a circle around the table, eating barbecue and chatting freely.
Maya and Lisa were the first to get drunk, followed by Ruby.
Grace took care of them while Natalie went outside with her phone.
She dialed that number once again.
Originally, she hadn’t held much hope.
But when the call connected, a low voice spoke first:
“I agree to be a witness.”
Natalie was somewhat surprised, then her eyes welled up as she wanted to thank him.
But before she could speak, he quickly hung up.
Not caring about anything else, Natalie hurriedly contacted her lawyer again.
Justice delayed–she would personally clear the injustice branded upon her!
Case retrials required proper procedures.

Chapter 20
Her eyes were vacant and lifeless, occasionally drifting to another part of the video.
“I’m sorry for worrying everyone. Please stop the unfounded speculation. I just had a relapse and have been undergoing treatment. I apologize for what I said before.”
“All along, I was just jealous of Ms. Warner. She was never the one blocking Christian and me from being together, yet she endured unnecessary troubles caused by our relationship.”
“I don’t know if she can see this video or if she’ll accept my forgiveness, but here I want to sincerely say to her: I’m sorry!”
In the video, Charlotte seemed afraid, glancing aside from time to time.
Behind the video recording stood Christian with a terrifyingly dark expression.
Her trembling voice addressed Christian:
“I… I’ve said everything as you instructed. Please, don’t give me any more ‘treatment‘ today! I was wrong, I really was wrong!”
She knelt trembling at Christian’s feet.
Eyes that once held deep affection now showed only fear.
And Christian’s gaze toward her held nothing but disgust and revulsion.
“Charlotte, I never promised you anything. You’re the one who said you wanted to compensate!”
Charlotte stared at him as if struck by lightning, her whole being radiating despair.
But Christian’s eyes held not even a trace of sympathy.
“This is just the beginning. I’ll make you repay everything you owe her!”
Christian turned and left after speaking.
He’d already seen that half–profile photo posted online.
He was certain–that was the person he’d been thinking about every sleepless night!
If not for recording this video, he would have flown to Natalie’s side already.
. He wiped his hands in disgust where Charlotte had touched them.
Then headed toward the airport.
