Chapter 11
Chapter 11
“This is insane! My worldview is shattered!”
“They were together all along! All that unrequited love was fake–they deceived us! Christian actually sent his own wife to prison for Charlotte! He’s a lawyer who used his wife’s trust against her like this?”
Christian trembled all over, his feet rooted to the spot.
He wanted to defend himself, but his throat felt blocked.
After a long pause, he stammered: “I didn’t sleep with her, I didn’t betray my wife…”
“Bullshit! So disgusting! You didn’t do it? Using your hands to pleasure her doesn’t count? Fake righteousness! If that doesn’t count, what does!”
“Exactly! I can’t believe I was a fan of people like you. My brain must have been waterlogged. So disgusting–staying here another second makes me sick. I’m exposing you when I get back!”
“Why wait? Expose them now! What scumbags–let everyone see. I wonder who was kind enough to leak this.”
“I bet it was his wife. After suffering such injustice and taking the blame for over three years, she finally let these ‘lovebirds‘ see the light!”
The big screen had been turned off.
But everyone had already recorded the footage.
One girl was about to post on her phone when a figure lunged at her.
“Crack!” The phone shattered on the floor.
Charlotte glared menacingly at everyone present.
“No filming! None of you are allowed to film!”
“This is a deepfake video, all fake! Someone’s deliberately framing us!”
“And you bitches don’t understand anything! Christian and I are soulmates! We’re each other’s true love! Natalie was the homewrecker who destroyed our relationship!”
Charlotte was having an episode.
She angrily smashed the vase beside her.
The bright red roses were trampled under her feet.
These were rare varieties she’d carefully selected for days and had flown in.
No one knew how much today meant to her.
But now, everything was ruined!
Everyone was frightened by her behavior.
Friends backed away while the media and fans retreated further, filming her breakdown.
The camera flashes blinded her. Instinctively, she looked for Christian.

But his figure had already reached the doorway.
He’d just abandoned her there!
Christian’s pace quickened. He couldn’t be bothered controlling the wedding chaos.
Natalie’s phone was unreachable, and his messages went unanswered.
His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, damp sweat making him restless.
There seemed to be more red lights than usual.
While waiting, he kept trying to call.
Still no answer.
Christian inexplicably recalled that day in Natalie’s grandmother’s hospital room.
Her desperate, mournful gaze mixed with hatred.
His chest felt like something had stabbed it hard, causing intense pain.
Suddenly his phone rang. Thinking Natalie was calling back, he answered joyfully.
“Honey! I-”
“Mr. Vale, Ms. Reed is having another episode. The situation’s out of control–she has a fruit knife and won’t let us approach. Please come back and stop
her!”
Charlotte’s assistant urged repeatedly, like a death knell.
But Christian’s steering wheel remained pointed toward home.
His gaze turned cold, devoid of any emotion.
“If she’s determined to die, no one can stop her. Call 911, not my number!”
Christian was about to hang up without hesitation.
On the other end, Charlotte, who’d heard everything, completely broke down.
She snatched the phone, tears streaming, about to speak-
Only to discover Christian had already hung up.
The assistant looked at Charlotte fearfully.
“Ms. Reed, should I take you to the hospital for a checkup?”
Now only the two of them remained in the banquet hall.
The scene was chaos.
Charlotte stood disheveled in place.
She picked up a vase and hurled it at the assistant’s feet.
Her eyes filled with rage and venom.
