Chapter 10
They suddenly turned their cameras toward Christian.
“Mr. Vale, Ms. Reed, congratulations on your wedding! What are your plans now? Where will you honeymoon? Can you share updates on social .media? There are so many fans in our support group who want to witness your love story!”
“Yes! Everyone’s been saying you’ve restored their faith in love!”
Seeing this, Charlotte put on a gentle smile and slipped her hand back into Christian’s arm.
When Christian tried to pull away, she looked at him with pleading, hurt eyes.
Christian kept his face rigid but didn’t push her away.
“Thank you for all your support, but we’re not public figures after all. We haven’t planned our itinerary yet and don’t intend to make it public, though I’ll occasionally share travel photos of Christian and me in the group chat.”
The crowd showed mixed reactions of disappointment and excitement…
Only Christian’s expression darkened abruptly.
He turned to Charlotte, questioning in a voice only she could hear:
“Didn’t I tell you to explain to them?”
“Christian, don’t be angry. Our recent momentum and publicity have been great–it’s really helping the firm. You know how many more clients we’re getting for defense cases compared to last year!”
Seeing his expression remain stormy. Charlotte had to crane her neck and speak placatingly: “I know you don’t like overexposure. I’ll just say a few words as an excuse to brush them off for now?”
This was the only option now.
Christian didn’t want his private affairs to damage the firm’s reputation.
He could only accompany Charlotte through this final act.
As the event wound down and Charlotte rose to see off the media fans and friends, the banquet hall doors suddenly opened.
“Excuse me, which one is Mr. Christian Vale?”
Christian stepped forward in confusion. “That’s me.”
“Here’s a package for you. Please sign here.”
Christian looked puzzledly at the delivery box, but before he could take it, Charlotte snatched it from the delivery person.
“No name on it? It’s a USB drive?”
“I know! It must be a congratulatory video from one of our friends who knew we were having our wedding here today!”
Charlotte excitedly had someone plug it into the computer to play.
Watching her back, Christian felt inexplicably agitated.
He sensed something was about to happen.

Chapter 10
“Ms. Reed, put it on the big screen! We filmed a lot of videos planning to edit them for you and Mr. Vale to post online!”
Charlotte raised an eyebrow and readily agreed.
The banquet hall lights dimmed.
The large screen at the front suddenly came alive with sound.
Before anyone realized what was wrong, blinding white light appeared before everyone.
“Mmm… ah… so good, so good Christian!”
A familiar voice suddenly rang out.
Almost simultaneously, everyone’s eyes widened as they turned to stare at Charlotte.
The footage continued playing–her bare–chested, exposing herself as she stood before Christian, begging him to touch her.
“Christian… yes, touch me like that… Christian, I love this so much…”
“Christian, I’m the only woman worthy of you. When you framed Natalie for murder to protect me, didn’t that prove everything? You say you love Natalie?”
“But if you really loved her, how could you treat her like that? Christian, stop lying to me–you want to be with me, don’t you?”
“Look, your mouth is harder than it!”
“Don’t touch me! Charlotte, you know I was forced into this. If it weren’t for fulfilling your third wish, I never would have sent my own wife to prison! If not for feeling guilty toward you, I wouldn’t have made that decision!”
“Now there’s just one wish left, then we’ll have no relationship whatsoever. Stop disrupting my life!”
Christian’s speech quickened, and his movements became increasingly frantic.
The woman in the video gasped with both pain and stimulation.
“Ah–turn it off! Turn it off!”
Charlotte’s shrill screams echoed through the banquet hall.
Everyone stood frozen, staring at the video…
Christian’s scalp tingled as he watched the absurd scene before him.
He couldn’t look away, staring unblinkingly ahead.
That was his home, but it had been bugged.
Who had installed the surveillance?
He didn’t need to guess-
It was Natalie!
